How to import places

1. Step: Get your database.

The first step is to have a file listing all the places your team visits.

If you don't already have one, you can create one with Google Sheets or use our default template.

Note: To use our template, just go to File > Make a copy or Download.
How to copy a spreadsheet

Record location information such as company name, business name, and address in the spreadsheet.

For the import to work, it is necessary to fill in the fields indicating Trade Name, Street, Number and City of the places you want to register.

After filling in the required information, download or save the spreadsheet by clicking File > Download As > Comma Separated Values (.csv).

To ensure greater precision in the geolocation of the Places, fill in all the fields provided in our spreadsheet.
⚠️ If you have edited your Excel spreadsheet, you need to save it in .XLS and import it into Google Spreadsheets, open and download it as .CSV.
Values in the CSV file must be separated by "," (comma) and not ";" (semicolon).

Step 2: Import the spreadsheet.

Click on "Settings" in Contele Field Team Manager, located in the menu bar on the left side of the screen.

Click on "Places" and then you will see the button "Register Places" which has an arrow beside it, click on the arrow and select option. Import Places,

Click on the option "Import spreadsheet (CSV)" and upload the spreadsheet with the location information.

Step 3: Verify Information

Before the locations are actually imported into the system, a confirmation screen for the submitted information will open.

The system recognizes most of the information, such as:

Fantasy name;
Corporate Name;
Public place.

However, some information must be validated manually, such as the ID, which is extremely important to use the system and generate Visits.

To validate manually, click on Select a field and link it to the field you are in, for example:

ID field = Link to ID

Client related to Business name field

If you have a spare field or blank space, click Ignore.

After that, click the "Save and continue" button at the bottom of the screen.

That's it, you've successfully imported your base locations!

Rules you need to know:

Importing coordinates and addresses, the system updates all system data following what is in the spreadsheet.

Importing only coordinates, without address fields, the system keeps the address fields registered in the system and updates the coordinates as shown in the spreadsheet.

If you delete an import, even an update, the imported locations will be deleted from the system.

The system performs the import in two steps: Registration and then Geolocation, which is performed one by one by Google Maps Enterprise standards.
